Gastroscopy is an operation procedure that uses a slim, flexible tube known as an endoscope to look into the oesophagus, stomache and beginning of the small intestine which is called the duodenum. This thin tube has a lens and a light source which is connected to a video screen. It will provide images for the doctor to see and analyse the condition of the stomache. Gastroscopy is also known as upper GI endoscopy.
