Our state of the art facilities ensures that you get the best medical diagnosis and treatment that you deserve. Life is too short to wait, wonder and prolong treatment. Quick diagnosis is the key to living a healthy life. You can do so with the help of our world class infrastructure which includes:
Our sprawling operation theatres cover an entire floor. We have ensured that the design allows continuous and regular circulation of patients along with appropriate acclimatization based on the needs of the occupants. There is filtered ventilation in all the rooms including the passageways. The space is divided into two areas the operation theatre and the recovery room. Besides the two we also have an endoscopic room. All medical history is backed up in the clinic database and can be accessed by authorized personnel from within the operation theatre itself.
We only use the best and most advanced technology in each operation theatre. Our equipment includes:
The branch of medicine that makes use of imaging technology to conduct medical diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders is known as radiology. Radiology has two branches diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. Our clinic offers both. Our highly trained radiologists use imaging techniques to help detect and heal your injury, infection or disease.
Radiology imaging is the process of creating visual representations of the interior aspects to determine the source of the disease and to help assign the next steps. We offer the following radiology and imaging services:
Our diagnostic laboratories are equipped with the latest in research and diagnosis. We have well-trained lab professionals and pathologists who conduct investigations and study the material collected from the patients to provide accurate diagnosis. These diagnostic laboratories conduct a wide range of haematological tests to understand the pre-operative, operative and post-operative status of each patient well.
Our diagnostic laboratories are kept under 24×7 surveilance to ensure that the samples collected from patients are not tampered with. We also conduct daily and regular sterilization of all the test tubes and containers in case they are designed for multiple usage or the disposable products are disposed with the help of advanced waste management systems.
The tests we conduct in our diagnostic laboratories include
The pathology department is one of the most important aspects of any good medical organisation. This is why we have invested our time and resources to ensure that our pathological department is equipped with fully functional supplies and accessories to get best diagnosis possible. We have hired only qualified pathology professionals who are dedicated to their job and have worked in the medical industry for many years.
They have been trained to leave no stone unturned in order to ensure the most accurate medical diagnosis. We have also acquired all the equipment and devices to recognize the rarest and the most easily missed diseases to guarantee timely intervention and treatment.
Our biochemistry department consists of highly qualified specialists who offer unmatched expertise abd execute each test with absolute precision. These professionals conduct biochemical analysis of body fluid. The idea behind these tests is to detect and analyse the different compounds present in fluids present in your body like blood and urine. Biochemistry is a rapidly evolving field and we work hard to keep up to date with the latest in research and analysis.
Biochemical tests are usually used to study and detect the various bacteria that exist. Biochemistry tests are crucial to ensure accurate medical diagnosis. A number of biochemical tests include serological and serum tests and are conducted using equipment of international standards. The lab technicians in our diagnostic centres are given the best medical uniforms and supplies to ensure hygienic and precise medical analysis.
Our diagnostic laboratories offer trans rectal ultrasounds. These are specially designed to see and understand the problems in the colorectal areas. Transrectal ultrasound is an imaging technique through which an ultrasound probe is inserted through the rectum and the results are recorded. In this particular method of ultrasound, sonographic waves are sent through the rectal walls and muscles. It helps make the medical diagnosis of the patient much easier. The biggest benefit of the transrectal ultrasound is that it helps find sphincters, tumours and fistulas quite easily thus enabling our specialists to begin treatment immediately.
Our state of the art operation theatre floor, cutting edge technology and hygiene and sanitation protocols makes us one of the best choices to conduct any colorectal procedure that you may need. These are the procedures we conduct:
Smiles Institute Of Gastroenterology under Dr. Parameshwara CM was the first hospital to introduce Magnetic Resonance Imaging Defecography in Karnataka. It is important to understand the source and course of treatment for constipation. It is also used for patients with Solitary Rectal Ulcer and Rectal Pain and some selected cases of fecal incontinence. Read more about it here.
Colon Hydrotherapy is a procedure which is opted for by people to promote a healthy colon. The procedure is also known as colonic irrigation or colon flush because it literally flushes all the toxins, hardened faecal matter and other wastes out of the body. Read more about it here.
Colonoscopy is a procedure which allows a doctor to look inside the large intestine which includes the rectum and colon. It provides an endoscopic look into the patient’s large intestine. It is one of the best ways to examine your body for any signs of colon cancer. Read more about it here.
Gastroscopy is an operation procedure that uses a slim, flexible tube known as an endoscope to look into the oesophagus, stomache and beginning of the small intestine which is called the duodenum. This thin tube has a lens and a light source which is connected to a video screen. It will provide images for the doctor to see and analyse the condition of the stomache. Gastroscopy is also known as upper GI endoscopy. Read more about it here.
Sigmoidoscopy is specifically designed to examine the sigmoid colon which is the last third of the colon while descending. The colon is the organ which helps you absorb all the healthy things like water and nutrients for the smooth functioning of your body. It is also where your stool is stored. Read more about it here
The colorectal surgeon uses an endoscope which is a flexible thin tube with a light and an attached camera to take pictures and videos of inside the patient’s digestive tract and transmits it onto a video monitor. This procedure is called an endoscopy. Read more about it here.
This test is performed to understand and measure the contractibility of the anus and the rectum for patients with constipation and incontinence. Anorectal manometry evaluates the pressure of the sphincter muscles in the anus, sensitivity of the rectum and the neural reflexes of the patient. In this technique a balloon is put in the rectum to cause pressure in the rectum and a pressure sensor is placed in the inner anal sphincter to measure the rectosphincteric reflex.
What make s the anorectal manometry unique is the ability to identify any muscular defects and also assess functional weakness of the internal and external sphincters involved in bowel control. It takes a single day to perform. The readings regarding the patient’s pelvic floor status is taken from the electrodes connected to a simple tube like transducer inserted into the rectum. The readings are then transmitted on the screen where the surgeon can understand and analyse the findings.
The colorectal industry is so vast and every day we hear of new lifestyle diseases that are affecting people. Under Dr. Parameshwar CM, SIICP was the first to introduce colonic transit studies. Colonic transit studies helps in ensuring accurate medical diagnosis of patients suffering from severe constipation. If patients cannot be cured with mere diet modification they may need some medication to increase their colonic motion.
Through this method radio opaque pellets are ingested into the patient and a series of or delayed radiographs of patients are taken to count the number of pellets left in the colon or the frequency and speed of the bowel movements.
Dr. Parameshwar CM is a well-trusted doctor for fissure, fistula and piles treatment in Bangalore.
