Message from Dr Parameshwar CM
India, with its 1.5 billion population, faces a significant health challenge: about 36% suffer from colorectal disorders at any given time, with at least 50% experience issues like piles, fissures, and fistulas once in their lifetime. Unfortunately, due to stigma and lack of awareness, many seek treatment from unqualified practitioners. According to the European Journal of Coloproctology, there are 1.5 million quacks in the country.
My mission is to ensure no one goes to quacks and to raise awareness about colorectal disorders. Alarmingly, 78% of colorectal cancers in India are diagnosed too late to be operable. In the next 15 years, my goal is to ensure early diagnosis, saving lives and bringing smiles to millions of families.
